In July and August of 2000, Brock drove for eight weeks and 13,000 miles around the United States in clockwise fashion, and visited friends and family along the way.
Periodically, he took out his not-so-trusty eight iron and hit a ball or two. The photographs on this page are single frames from digital video of the event.
Naturally, there was a lot of video that had nothing to do with golf taken at places like Carhenge (Nebraska), and the Fountain of Youth (St. Augustine, Florida), and of great events like the conclusion of the OpSail 2000 tall ships journey (Portsmouth, Maine). But, this is a golf website, and anyway, the golf photos are all anyone wants to see.
One of Brock’s goals on the trip was to hit a golf ball across the Mississippi River. This he accomplished, albeit in Minnesota where the river was about 80 yards across. As you can see in the photo below, there was a large and supportive crowd that attended this momentous event. |
